SUMMARY:Canceled due do fires - Aufderheide & Covered Bridges Tour
DESCRIPTION:Sad news…We must cancel the drive due to the fires along the McKenzie River which was going to be the start of a  beautiful drive.  Lots of loss for the people living in those communities along the river and nearby.  Please keep them in your thoughts.  \nThe Covered Bridges Tour is unique this year. It combines the southern part of the West Cascades Scenic Byway with a few historic covered bridges mixed in. Starting east of Eugene we will follow the rolling McKenzie River and cross two covered bridges. Turning south we will drive a particular part of the byway called the Aufderheide Scenic Byway. It starts with hugging the rocky cliffs above the picturesque Cougar Reservoir. Then we will drop down into a forest grove that has some amazing undulating twisty roads. A fire hit this area two years ago but the return to life is remarkable! The lush canopy of the majestic Willamette National Forest then takes over and you will see the most natural forested road you have ever been on. This section is perfect for top-down driving. It reminds me of the Blue Ridge Parkway. But we will try to put some Nurburgring Nordschleife into it! Robert Aufderheide believed that the forest should serve multiple uses and this byway honors his achievements in forest management. When we arrive in Westfir we will cross the Office Covered Bridge and have our b.y.o. picnic lunches there. After lunch\, the tour continues with four more covered bridges concluding at Lowell Covered Bridge Park. The Middle Fork of the Willamette River and its magnificent gorge will guide us back to civilization. \nWe will meet at 10:00 am at Lloyd Knox Park in Walterville OR. Take Hwy 126 East of Eugene to get there.  Input Lloyd Knox Park into google maps. It perfectly identifies the meeting spot over the Dam. \nAchtung! Cell phone service is Non-Existent on this tour\, and so are gas stations. Be sure your beloved BMW is in top condition before taking this drive; this would be a bad place to break down. Bathrooms are at the start and at lunch\, about 2 hours apart. There is also one at the end of the drive. \nPLEASE NOTE: \n\nAll drivers MUST be pre-registered and be a current BMWCCA member\nFace Masks are required while outside of vehicles during the event. \nDrivers and passengers should stay with their cars and must practice social distancing protocols at all times.\nAll drivers and passengers MUST sign the electronic waiver prior to the event.\nRegistration is limited to 30 cars.\n\nWe will have a Drivers’ meeting at 10:15 AM to explain the route and safety rules. We will head out shortly thereafter. \nPlease remember to thank the volunteers that help to put these events on. They are working hard to make this a great event for all\, meeting the challenges presented during this pandemic. \nLet’s all have fun and be safe. \nREGISTRATION NOW OPEN

DESCRIPTION:Due to the weather and wildfire smoke\, we have rescheduled MotorFest from this Saturday\, September 19th to this Sunday\, September 20th. \nAll proceeds\, including the $10 registration fee\, from the event Sunday will be donated to local charities to help those impacted by the recent wildfires \nREGISTRATION OPEN. REGISTER HERE \nThe BMW Oregon CCA Chapter is excited to let you know that MotorFest11 is a GO for 2020!  While 2020 has brought us all much uncertainty\, one thing for certain is that MotorFest11 will once again be a great event for BMW aficionados in Oregon and Southwest Washington. \nMotorFest11 will be just a little different than the past 10 MotorFest events as health and safety measures to protect attendees will be implemented for the duration of the event.  To properly comply with state and health agency\, required face masks for all guests and social distancing measures will be put in place to protect all attendees\, to ensure the event is safe and enjoyable while viewing the fantastic collection of new\, old\, rare\, and exotic BMW driving machines \nFor 2020\, MotorFest 11 will be held on a unique private hill-side estate near Silver Falls\, Oregon\, with a sweeping panoramic view of the Willamette Valley below.  The new format for MotorFest11 will be a casual festival-like event\, nestled amongst the trees and gentle hills\, with no pre-determined order to the parking layout as in years past.  To minimize contact\, upon arrival at the estate\, find a spot with a view\, set up your blankets\, chairs\, canopies\, and roll out your own picnic lunch and enjoy the day with friends\, family\, and pets.  For-purchase food and beverage service will not be available at this year’s event\, but toilets and hand sanitizing stations will be available. \nThe highly anticipated MotorFest Charity Raffle and Car Show Awards will be postponed for this year\, but rest assured\, the MotorFest soundtrack will be back and will entertain you throughout the day as you meander through the groups of unique cars.  MotorFest11 will be another great opportunity to meet up with old friends and make many new ones while searching for your next dream car.  Mark your calendar for Saturday\, September 19\, from 11am to 3pm Required pre-registration is open on Motorsportreg.com (no day-of registration this year)\, and for a nominal $10 per car entry fee\, you will have the opportunity to enjoy one the most beautiful properties in the valley\, along with the most beautiful cars in the valley.
