SUMMARY:21 and Over Driving Tour
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: We intended to have a multi day tour this year\, but we have run into some challenges\, and feel that we could provide a better experience for our members by postponing the multi-day tour until 2020. We are scaling back the tour to a one-day local tour. Please join us for this one\, and we hope everyone can join us in 2020. \nOverview: \nPicture a cool\, crisp\, sunny autumn day\, with a group of classic BMWs cruising through the valley. Sun glinting off chrome and fresh air blowing through your open windows. That’s our vision for the 21 and Over tour. \nOur goal is to focus this event on older BMWs. While some tours and rallies restrict participation to vehicles that are 1973 and older\, we want to include newer classics\, cars which are 1998 and older (hence the name “21 and Over Tour”). \nTo sign up for the tour\, you must be a BMWCCA member\, and participate with a vehicle that is 21 years old or older. We will allow non-BMWs that meet the age requirement as well. \nThe Tour will start on Saturday 9/28 at 8:30 a.m. \nWe will meet at European Motor Werks (formerly Peter’s Hobby Shop)\, just off I-5 in Wilsonville. Under new ownership\, you’ll have a chance to talk to Jason and Pablo\, the new owners\, about their services and plans for improving and expanding the facilities. We will have a Drivers’ Meeting at 9:30 to explain the route\, then head out shortly after. \nFrom there we’ll head west on Wilsonville Road\, following the twists and turns of the Willamette River. We’ll then make a spirited run through the beautiful Chehalem Valley region near Newberg and Carlton\, and enjoy more twisties along Chehalem Mountain. As we make our way into Tigard\, we’ll head to Gustav’s Pub German restaurant for lunch. \nJoin us for a fun day of running our classic Bimmers through some beautiful Oregon countryside! \n Registration
