SUMMARY:Lane County Covered Bridges Drive
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\nLane County has more covered bridges than any other county west of the Mississippi. So\, I invite you to join us\, as we visit some bridges that have not been on tour before. This driving tour will focus on the western part of the county and all four of the bridges can be driven over with our cars. Our starting point makes for a quick entry into the countryside.\nBeautiful curvy roads lead to the first bridge near Hadleyville. On the way to Vaughn\, we will see the first of several wood and paper mills. I am not sure if they are in operation\,\nbut a photographer could have a field day taking pictures. Heading out to Walton we will experience the joys of the sweeping bends of the coast range. At Linslaw we will take a\nquick break and then it’s on to Mapleton. This quaint small town is nestled in a canyon on the Siuslaw River. This rolling river will guide us to Deadwood. A spectacular drivers\nroad\, twisty and smooth\, leads to the third bridge. Then we will take in the picturesque Triangle Lake. I would like to spend some time on this inviting lake. From there we\nshoot through Blachly forest and make our way to Veneta for lunch. End of Tour: Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant 24965 OR-126\, Veneta\, OR 97487 \nATTENTION! Bridge #3 is on a 0.8-mile loop road that is gravel. It is well maintained and we will be on a slow crawl for this section. However\, we have a plan to split the\ngroup into those that want to avoid the gravel. But those that choose the bypass will not be able to see this bridge. \nIf you would like to mingle with your fellow motorists we will be at the Target in Eugene at 9:45 am. Target 4575 W 11th Ave\, Eugene\, OR 97402 \nWe will have a Mandatory drivers’ meeting at 10:15 AM sharp to explain the route and safety rules. We will head out in staggered groups shortly thereafter. \nPLEASE NOTE:\n1. All drivers MUST be pre-registered and be current BMWCCA members. No “Day Of” registration is allowed\, and no “guest” drivers are allowed.\n2. Face Masks are encouraged\, but not required\, while outside of vehicles during the event.\n3. Drivers and passengers should stay with their cars until registration is complete.\n4. All drivers and passengers MUST sign the electronic waiver prior to the event. The waiver is a separate link from this registration form for the event\, please forward the link to your passengers.\n5. Registration is limited to 45 cars.\n6. Drivers meeting is Mandatory
