SUMMARY:BMW of Salem Covered Bridges Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first road tour of 2016! BMW of Salem will be hosting a morning autos & kaffee with pastries and caffeine from IKE Box before we set out on a tour of historic covered bridges in the beautiful countryside of the Willamette Valley. \nAfter we’ve had our share of fast sweepers and occasional twisters we’ll make our way back into town for a grill out catered by BMW of Salem. While taking in your burgers and hot dogs\, you’ll have a chance to tour the facilities and check out any of the new BMW models in the showroom and around the lot. \nThis is a great opportunity to see the new BMW of Salem campus if you haven’t seen it yet. Coupled with a taste of scenic Oregon and some spirited driving\, it should be an eventful morning that you won’t want to miss. \n  \nSchedule:\n9 AM Arrival\n9:30 AM Drivers Meeting and Departure\n1 PM Lunch \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe state of Oregon currently has the greatest number of historic covered bridges in the United States with a total of 50. At its peak\, there were over 450 covered bridges scattered across the state. \nThe Covered Bridge Society of Oregon was founded in 1978 to ensure that Oregon’s covered bridges would be preserved for future generations. \nOn April 9th\, we’ll get to view these six bridges: \n\nStayton-Jordan Bridge (1937)\nHannah Bridge (1936)\nShimanek Bridge (1966)\nLarwood Bridge (1939\nHoffman Bridge (1936)\nGilkey Bridge (1939)

DESCRIPTION:If you’re looking for something to do over the winter months\, come join us for our Kart Racing Series at Sykart in Tigard. Races will occur on the second Tuesday of each month from November through April. We’ll have 2 different race classes based on weight to keep things competitive. This is a points based racing series based on your top 5 (of 6 total) race times. The winners will be crowned after the final race in April. Races will start at 6:30pm each night and the dates for the races are: \nNovember 10\nDecember 8\n January 12\n February 9\n March 8\nApril 12 \nEach night you will get to participate in 3 races; Qualifying\, Heat\, and a Final. Plan on spending a total of 2 to 2 1/2 hours at Sykart on race nights. \nCost is $35 for each of the race nights payable to Sykart on race night. \nThis is open only to Oregon Chapter members so make sure your membership is active and updated in MotorsportReg.com!
