This is a truly beautiful car, and it gets looks and comments whenever I drive it.
Pics and full details available on my CL listing:
Sorry, photos were not uploading when I posted this ad.
I purchased this car in March of 2014 from the original owner’s family. It had been rarely used for 20 years, and thus the low mileage. The car was well cared for and had some nice period upgrades performed by the original owner – including: Bilstein shocks, Hardy and Beck 3-Piece rims (RARE), air dam, engine polishing (intake and valve cover), high-end stereo (ADS amps and speakers), euro rear fog light, engine tuning (cam grind, etc) and updated exhaust (removed thermal reactors).
Upon taking ownership, I invested over $4,000 to update the vehicle and make it ready to use as a daily driver. These improvements include the following:
Complete engine tune, including valve adjustment and top-end inspection
New brakes – all OEM parts
New tires – Michelin Pilot Sport AS3
Coolant flush and fill
Differential and Transmission fluid flush and fill
Updated rear belts to 3-point (had lap belts)
Re-configured stereo – added new Precision Power sub, amp rack and Pioneer Bluetooth CD Player
The car is in solid mechanical condition. It likes a couple minutes to warm up, but then it purrs. I would be comfortable driving it across country. I drove it from Seattle to Bend (6 hours) and had no problems, whatsoever.
It could use a new muffler at some point (little loud, but not bad – I like it). A/C doesn’t work, though all components are present.
Fantastic considering age. The driver’s seat is separating (see pic), but the sheepskin cover keeps it under wraps. Otherwise, it’s very clean. Slight stains on floormats and headliner, but nothing major.
Pretty good. There is a ding in the driver rear door (see pic), and a small dent in the passenger rear quarter (also in the pics). The roof’s clearcoat has given way, and could use a touch up (again, see pic for details).
I have tried to give a fair and accurate description of this vehicle, warts and all. It’s not perfect, but it’s a sweet ride.
I have STACKS of receipts to support the history I’ve described, as well as the original Owner’s Manual, BMW Factory Repair Manual and a collection of spare parts – all will go to the new owner.
I will happily answers any questions about the car and can also supply additional photos to interested parties. I can also arrange to have the vehicle delivered to a local (in Bend., OR) mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection (at buyer’s expense). I’m also happy to deliver the vehicle after purchase to Portland or Eugene – all I ask is for gas and a flight home (+/- $250).
If interested, here is a little more background about this car and it’s value:
