An Opportunity to Own an Extremely Rare E36 BMW!
An original 1994 325is M-Technic. Only 150 of these beauties were built the year before the M3 series were launched. Very few are ever on the market…and ours only has 146,XXX original miles.
**History of the Rare 1994 M-Technic:
In the early 1990’s BMW Motorsport was producing some very expensive M3 prototypes in Europe with very high ticket prices. To test this new concept in the US and deliver the M Series at a reasonable market price, the BMW Motorsport Division created 150 prototype 325is models called the M-Technic (E36.)
As our mechanic tells us, he loves this version because we have all the great features of the M Series without the finicky and expensive-to-service motor of the M3 cars.
Here are some of the rare and original features of our BMW 325is M-Technic:
-An M exclusive color (Alpine III White)
-Rare Hurricane cloth/ with Alcantara ultra suede interior
-M3 Steering Wheel
-M-Technic exclusive two-piece forged BBS alloy wheels. (The value of these rare wheels has been assessed at $500 to $750 each…$2,000 to $3,000 for the set)
-M Technic suspension with firmer shocks and thicker anti-roll bars front and rear, and a limited-slip differential
-Accenting the body are the European M3’s distinctive aerodynamic twin-stalk side-view mirrors, its side skirts, rear valance and the deep air dam–with three horizontal slats
-Also included are “BMW Motorsport”-emblazoned door handles, M Technic badges on the body side trim
-Manually adjusted, heated front sport seats upholstered in a combination of black “Hurricane” cloth (incorporating the M division’s trademark blue/purple/magenta colors)
-Amaretta faux suede, a tri-color-stitched steering wheel
-M shift knob,
-chrome exhaust tips
**Condition of this Rare M-Technic:
We are the second owner, and it’s been part of our family for about 13 years. The body is in outstanding condition with only a couple minor dings and very few scratches. The interior is in very good shape. Typical of 325 models of this vintage, the headliner cloth is sagging a little bit.
Both rear bushings have been replaced. An ABS sensor needs to be replaced.
Mechanically this gem runs very well. We’ve changed the oil every 3 to 3,500 miles. The air conditioner needs to be recharged and there are a few typical gasket leaks (oil pan and valve cover.)
Oh yeah, the original stock radio needs a light bulb replaced.
**We Hate To Sell:
Our goal has always been to keep this rare vehicle forever and restore it to showroom condition.
But as we all know, life and priorities change.
This is no “daughter or son going off to college” BMW. This 325is is flat-out fun to drive. It handles like a dream and is a real head-turner.
We are looking for a great home for this fantastic sport coupe. A person or family who can appreciate the rarity of the model and treat her like she deserves…. Restoring her to original beauty.
**Only Call Us If…
As we market this vehicle across the country, we know there will be a lot of tire-kickers looking for a bargain.
If you are really interested in buying an EXTREMELY RARE 325is (E36) and aren’t looking to lowball our price, please contact us. We are reasonable people, but we know the great vehicle we have.
We just want to sell the M-Technic at a price that is fair for both parties.
**Speaking of Value…
It’s very difficult to place a value on this rare car. With only 150 made, it’s hard to find comparable sales. We did find a sale a couple years ago of one of the original M-Technics for about $10,000. This comparable sale had about 250,000 miles on it.
We do realize our baby needs a little TLC, but it has low miles and is in good condition.
I recently contacted a rare car dealer to look into the value of our vehicle. After his exhaustive research, he suggested offering our M-Technic between $7,500 to $9,000.
To save us all time and energy, our listing price should make it quick and simple. The first $6,750 cash offer takes this rare vehicle home.
I do respond to emails.
If this listing is still active, the vehicle is available.
